An Equal sinner

As a girl, I don’t want to be treated as a creature of special powers, as an angel or a delicate child, but as an equal sinner.

  1. That’s so right! The original quote, that is. It’s a corrective both to a male attitude to women which idealises them in order to turn them into something more like statues than humans, and the kind of feminism which attacks any negative characterisation of women as stereotyping while claiming positive characteristics in women to be fundamental, as in the statement that with more women in charge there would be fewer wars (evidence doesn’t support that so far).

Mind you, it would be possible for a very tall man to place a woman on a pedestal in order to kiss her.

    • Exactly what I was trying to say with the quote. Women are either looked at as glorified seats of reproduction and life or angels sent from heaven but never as equals in a way that they can be just as negative as a man can be.

Someone I dated a long time back was 6 feet 5 inches and I am 5 feet 4 inches. So yes, It is possible for a very tall man to place a woman on a pedestal in order to kiss her. Sometimes it is almost imperative that he do. 😀

      • Mind you, when I first wrote that, for some reason I keyed in “for a very short man to place a woman on a pedestal in order to kiss her”. I saw the mistake and changed it. If that was a Freudian slip, I tremble…

      • What a lovely mistake that would have been. It creates a whole range of images in my head. This is the kind of madness I need to get the creative juices flowing. “for a very short man to place a woman on a pedestal in order to kiss her”…
